ביום ג' ה-12.1.2010  קיימה תזמורת סימפונט רעננה קונצרט "מסע פסטורלי" במשכן העירוני למוסיקה ואומנויות שברעננה ובמרכזו ביצוע מרגש של יצירה חדשה מאת דדי צור הכותב מוסיקה לקולנוע ולטלוויזיה בהוליווד. היצירה בשם "גיבור באפלה" נכתבה כמחווה ליופ וסטרוויל. במהלך ביצוע היצירה הנמשכת כ-10 דקות הוקרנו על מסך רקע תמונות ותקציר פועלו של יופ.

על הקונצרט ניצח המנצח עומר מ. ולבר והסולנים היו  יעקב (יקי) ראובן- מנדולינהוקונסטנטין סוקולוב – צ'לו.

לקונצרט הוזמנו חברים מ"קבוצת וסטרוויל" וביניהם גם מרטה פלד – בתם של ויל ויופ בנותיה תמנע ועופרה והנכד (נין ליופ וויל) אמיר.

ערוץ 2 של הטלויזיה הישראלית צילם את האירוע וכן ראיון עם מספר מחברי קבוצת ווסטרוויל. הכתבה שודרה ביום ד' 20 לינואר 2010.

On Tuesday, January 12, 2010, the Raanana Symphony Orchestra held a "pastoral journey" concert at the Raanana Municipal Music and Arts Center, centered on an exciting performance of a new work by Dedi Tzur, who writes music for film and television in Hollywood. The piece called "Hero in the Dark" was written as a tribute to Joop Westerweel. During the performance of the work, which lasted about 10 minutes, images and a summary of Joop's work were projected on a background screen. The concert was conducted by conductor Omar M. Weber and the soloists were Jacob (Yaki) Reuven – mandolin and Konstantin Sokolov – cello. Members of the "Westerweel Group" were invited to the concert, including Marta Peled – the daughter of Wil and Joop, her daughters Timna and Ofra, and Amir the grandson (great grandchild of wil and Joop).

Channel 2 of Israeli Television filmed the event as well as an interview with several members of the Westerweel group. The article was broadcast on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 and can be watched at the attached link.
